The Band

The Insanity is a band full of youth, experience and talent. Their shows include classic songs as Johnny.B Goode to Chasing cars, from rock ‘n’ roll to rock, from ballads to punk. Something for everybody. Ideal for a club, a bar, a concert hall or festivals.

Born and bred in Kempston, Bedford, Dee moved to Cyprus four years ago. This is the first time for her singing in a band, Dee has attended a theatre school but then realized rock music was the way forward.  She lives here in Cyprus with her parents Jacky and Keith, and brother Rikki. Dee has been singing ever since she can remember but hasn’t had any serious training. She recently started taking guitar lessons, and is really enjoying it. Apart from music, Dee loves to read, write and watch films.

Nik Lavithi   

Bass Guitarist playing for 30 years   

Born - Leicester, 15th April 1964 

Musical experience –Nik is self taught and has played in punk & rock bands since the age of  14 years old, toured and played gigs all over England. 

Previous bands include, The Gimmix, the New Breed, Future Toys, the Relics, the Glory. The Dyna-mikes and now “the Insanity”. 

Previous records,  

The Glory – “Skins n Punks”, “We are wot we are”, and various tracks on complication albums.   

Future Toys – “Where the hell is Leicester.” 

The Insanity – Just finished recording a new single called “Chasing Cars”  

Equipment – Nik plays a Black Rockstar 5 string Bass Guitar, 

Also have a Black Stagg 6 string acoustic guitar. 

Nik also writes his own songs. 

At present Nik is located in Cyprus and am playing with “the Insanity”

Born;  East London; 20th June 1956

Musical experience; Played in rock bands since he was 17 years old, toured England several times. Previous bands include, Wolfbane, Blind Fury,

Anandem, Skin and Blister. Wolfbane have a website at www.wolfbane.net

Also worked with several PA companies as a sound engineer including

Db sound hire Panther sound hire, Brit Row.

And was chief engineer at Smokehouse Recording Studios London for five years. 

Alesis and Morley sound processors.

Was Born on the 9th of September 1970 in Leicestershire England 

He started singing with school choirs then as he got older progressed to playing drums and guitar.

His first taste of playing in a band was in his high school days where he played drums and backing vocals in a band called Bongos Beat,

Joshes day job when he left school was an engineer for his Fathers hydraulic company but his passions for music took him to the next level.

In 2005 Josh took a big gamble to give up the day job where he’d been for many years and concentrate on writing and recording his songs.

In 2006 josh entered the UK International Song Writing Contest where all 8 of his songs made it to the semi finals this gave josh the boost he needed to write more and follow his dream so he decided to come to Cyprus this is where he met his first producer.

Josh recorded a demo CD but due to a change in his family life it was never released, 

A few months later josh was introduced to Nik Lavithi and was asked to join his band called Group Therapy as a drummer and backing vocalist,

A short while later as some bands do, they split and Josh and Nik formed another band called The Dynamikes were they took their music to the next level.

Josh is now in The Insanity where he is playing drums and backing vocals, Josh’s biggest influences are U2, Simple Minds, Lionel Ritchie and his Family and Friends.    

Andy has been playing the guitar for 20 years and once played the bongos on the Old Grey Whistle Test Show for the John Martyn Band.

Previous bands were Storm and Kick the Can. Andy plays a Fender Stratocaster with Marshall Amp. Andy has joined the Insanity as a guest appearance rhythm guitarist.
